StreamSCAPES holds methodology workshop during first in-person consortium meeting in Brussels
On 12–13 May 2025, the StreamSCAPES consortium convened in Brussels for its first in-person meeting since the project’s launch. The two-day event brought together representatives from the thirteen project partners to share progress updates and strengthen collaboration across work packages.
A central feature of the meeting was the Methodology Workshop, marking the achievement of Milestone 2. This workshop laid the groundwork for the project’s core research activities, offering a collaborative space for partners to align on methodological approaches and ensure coherence across the project’s interdisciplinary framework.
Discussions focused on key aspects of research design and implementation, including:
- Structuring and conducting focus groups, surveys, and semi-structured interviews.
- Strategies for data management, including ethical handling and storage.
- Guidance on how to translate research into high-quality deliverables.
- Organisational and ethical considerations relevant to working across diverse cultural and institutional contexts
The workshop also addressed the need for adaptability in research tools and communications strategies to reflect the diversity of stakeholders involved—from creative professionals and industry actors to policymakers, academics, and young audiences.
These exchanges reinforce StreamSCAPES’ commitment to rigorous, participatory, and context-sensitive research. By equipping partners with shared tools and frameworks, the project continues to build a strong analytical base for examining how VOD platforms can contribute to a more sustainable cultural ecosystem in Europe.
The methodology workshop represents a critical step forward in shaping the project’s next phases, especially in Work Packages 2 and 3, where mapping practices and developing tailored tools for industry engagement will take centre stage.
