StreamSCAPES concludes its Set-the-Stage workshops

Between June and September 2025, the StreamSCAPES consortium held a series of online Set-the-Stage Workshops with stakeholders from the video-on-demand (VOD) industry and the broader audiovisual sector. The workshops explored how streaming platforms can drive a sustainable climate transition within the audiovisual ecosystem.

Over five sessions, more than twenty participants shared valuable insights, discussed key challenges, and exchanged experiences on the environmental, social, policy, and business aspects of sustainability in VOD services. Discussions touched on topics such as energy efficiency, sustainable production practices, digital infrastructures, and audience engagement.

The insights gathered during these workshops will contribute to an upcoming StreamSCAPES set-the-stage report on sustainability in the VOD ecosystem, which will in turn inform the project’s ongoing research and policy activities.
