StreamSCAPES at Cannes: Bridging Europe and Latin America for a Greener Audiovisual Future
New conference
The StreamSCAPES project is taking center stage at the Cannes Film Market (Marché du Film)! On May 13, 2026, our consortium will lead a high-level panel marking a milestone in our international outreach.
Titled "Europe–Latin America Policy Dialogue," this event is a collaborative initiative between the CAACI (Conferencia de Autoridades audiovisuales y cinematográficas de Iberoamérica) and StreamSCAPES members from ULiège and the EUI.
A Global Dialogue for Sustainability
The panel will tackle one of the most pressing issues in the industry today: the role of streaming platforms in the green transition. Experts will analyse:
- Policy Responses: How different regions are regulating the digital shift.
- Sustainability Strategies: Sharing best practices for a greener VOD ecosystem.
- Transatlantic Cooperation: Strengthening film and regulatory relations between the European Union and Latin America.

- Rafael Barriga, Executive Director, Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Creation from Ecuador
- Mafalda Dâmaso, Part-Time Professor, European University Institute
